Qualifications:
- Medical Secretarial Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of Grade 12 education
- Completion of a Medical Terminology Course
Required Skills:
- Keyboarding and data entry skills
- One year experience in health care field
- Telephone and word processing skills
Abilities:
- Ability to assess requests and prioritize them
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to prepare correspondence and reports; as well as, sort, review and file various documents
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Demonstrate initiative and good judgment in problem solving and identifying opportunities for action
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent verbal, written, telephone and computer skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Maintain an effective working relationship with patients, physicians, hospital staff, volunteers and the public

- Understanding of general Medical Terminology
