Description

Analyze and interpret category information in order to identify opportunities and enhance category performance, incorporating both the retailer's goals and MEC business objectives.

Manage Category management strategies and development of planograms.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Lead the development of preparing category management plans and presentations for key customers using multiple data sources, and present findings to appropriate teams/customers in support of business plans
  • Proactively help to manage the sales planning process to identify trends and review key indicators; track opportunity gaps and highlight causal factors
  • Utilize POS tools, shipment data, syndicated data and standard reference material in assisting in the preparation of customer presentations, promotional evaluations and special project work
  • Assist in driving category development principles with key customers to differentiate our client from competition to attain increased distribution, space and display resulting in increased sales and profit
  • Analyze and interpret information in order to identify opportunities and enhance category performance, incorporating both the retailer's goals and MEC business objectives.
  • Prepare space planning planograms and analysis for key accounts utilizing Space Planning software and Nielsen or retailer data.
  • Collaborate with sales team and retailer to provide analysis to create efficient and functional category schematics.
  • Utilize data sources (retailer scan, Nielsen, VIP) to ensure proper allocation of space for each item
  • Generated reports and charts, such as ranking, efficient assortment, days of supply, and space vs. sales, to assist in the designing and presentation of schematics

Position Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree BS, BA
  • Experience in managing category and space management within CPG industry 35 years of Category Management and Space Planning experience is an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Business suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word), Nielsen Nitro, and Space Planning software
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Nielsen Syndicated Data, and shelf management software and principles
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to a widely diverse audience to ensure information is clearly presented Key Success Factors

  • The ability to develop trusting business partnerships across crossfunctional teams
**Salary Range: $57,600k-$67,800k
