The position of Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for the quality control of work as it relates to CNC machining and assembly.
We are hiring this position for afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday 4 PM to 2:30 AM. There is a shift premium for all hours worked on the afternoon shift.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting up, programing and operating CMM equipment, and other inspection tools to ensure quality.
- Working with tight tolerances
- Using strand hand measuring instruments, i.e. micrometers, Vernier calipers, gauges, etc)
- Interpreting part drawings to perform inspection tasks in meeting specifications
- Documenting any deviations or variances based on job information sheets
- Calibration of necessary CMM equipment.
- Conducting inprocess, and final inspection of complex metallic parts to confirm all operations have been completed to job specifications
- Verifying part validity by carrying out dimensional, functional and visual inspections
- Keeping a clean and safe work area
- Defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions to communicate to management and shop floor.
- Obtaining required specific dimensions on supplied stack components for repairs or making new ones
- Working closely with 3D CAD Measuring
- Utilize Quality System procedures outlined by the organization
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
- 25 years experience in a CMM Operator/QC Technician role with solid knowledge and experience with CMM programming and operation.
- GEO Measure/MCOSMOS experience
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
