This position is located at The Irving Greenberg Family Cancer Centre at Queensway-Carleton Hospital.

Basic Requirements:


  • Current certificate of competence in the province of Ontario;
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing;
  • Five (5) years current related nursing experience;
  • Minimum two (2) years current oncology experience;
  • Minimum one (1) year outpatient systemic therapy experience;
  • DeSouza Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy (DeSouza) or ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification is mandatory. Must be willing to maintain this certification and recertify if required;
  • Competency in administration of chemotherapy;
  • Knowledge and demonstrated successful performance in previous leadership roles;
  • Knowledge and demonstrated skill related to supporting team functioning and flow of patient care;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CQI process and participation in the process;
  • Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in conflict prevention and resolution;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal continuing education, and ongoing staff education, unit projects and committees;
  • Knowledge of Ambulatory Care principles;
  • Certification in CPR.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • CNA Oncology Certification (CON(C));
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification;
  • Membership to CANO / ONS;
  • Membership to RNAO;
  • Leadership education/training;
  • Unit/hospital committee membership;
  • Proficiency in English and French oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
