The Role:

The Bookkeeper will enjoy working alongside the IFS team and the managers to support our large range of clients and be equally as invested in who our clients are as people, as well as their business and the 'numbers'.
In this position, the Bookkeeper will have a keen eye and be a diligently be a detail-oriented professional.This role is great for someone who is looking to make contributions and impact the team and its clients in a positive and growth-oriented manner.
The team values education and experience and is looking to give the Bookkeeper the room to grow in impacting the organizations processes and procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Providing monthly bookkeeping services to clients
- Processing biweekly/ semimonthly payroll for clients
- Preparing monthly journal entries
- Preparing and filing of GST returns (monthly, quarterly, annual, and Quick Method)
- Maintaining regular contact with clients and taxation authorities (CRA and provincial government)
- Checking and verifying source documents such as invoices and receipts
- Reconciling and balancing all accounts
- Preparing financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet)
- Maintaining internal control systems
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintaining complete filing system to support financial records
- Other ad hoc projects (process improvement, best practices) as required
Qualifications:
_Education & Experience:
_:
- A postsecondary diploma or certificate in a relevant field (i.e. Bookkeeping, Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance) and a minimum of 23 years experience in full cycle bookkeeping
Skills & Knowledge:
_**:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Procedures (GAAP)
- Knowledge of Caseware would be considered an asset

- Strong awareness of attention to detail
- Ability to solve problems independently and use judgement to raise awareness of challenging/complex issues
