As a Global Reman Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the entire spectrum of operations within the Parts & Services Global Remanufacturing Operations located in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
Your responsibilities include workforce management, streamlining operations, driving efficiency, maintaining operational compliance, and actively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement while ensuring profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure operational and financial targets are met (KPI's utilization, efficiency)
- Manage operational budgets
- Conduct daily/weekly operations meetings and present at monthly management meetings
- Approve plant requirements (e.g., new shop tools), POs, expenses, warranty claims, and employee time entries
- Conduct performance & development reviews for direct employees
- Mediate employee issues and handle disciplinary actions when necessary
- Coordinate with the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) team for a safe work environment
- Serve as the Safety Officer, promoting a safe work environment through awareness, audits, safety meetings, training, and corrective actions
- Review and approve preferred contractors and suppliers
- Coordinate with contractors for cleaning, building maintenance and other services
- Provide input for product program reviews, fostering innovation
- Lead the social committee, planning teambuilding and employee events
- Determine employee training requirements and ensure completion
Skills and Experience:
- Strong leadership capabilities with at least 5 years of managerial experience
- 35 years of industrial remanufacturing experience
- Effective businessoriented communicator at all levels
- Mechanical aptitude and strong work ethic
- Exceptional time management, pressure handling, and problemsolving skills
- Approachable with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Passion, commitment, and a positive attitude towards the company's best interests
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and adaptability
- Wellorganized, focused on continuous improvement, and ethical standards
- Ability to identify operational weaknesses, propose and implement solutions
- Adapt to changing conditions and priorities
- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness, operations management, and budgeting
- Familiarity with business and financial principles, remanufacturing processes, and mining equipment
- Social skills, active listening, conflict management, and negotiation abilities
- Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is a significant advantage
- Residency in or willingness to relocate to the Sudbury area
