Summer Program Coordinator, Justice-Centric Portfolio


Status:
Contract position; duration of need: June 19, September 1, 2023


Hours:
Up to 20 hours per week

What you will do:

The incumbent will coordinate the following Justice-Centric Portfolio programs: Police Foundations; Protection, Security and Investigation; Forensic Identification; Bachelor of Community Development; Forensic Identification and Community and Justice Services


Responsibilities will include:

ensuring continued growth and development of existing programs as assigned; ensuring, using a participatory mode, the selection and development of appropriate learning methodologies; recommending curricula changes/ modifications as deemed appropriate by the instructional groups; providing advice to management with regard to the staffing of courses; developing and maintaining industry connections to the program; enrolling and orienting new students; advising and counselling full and part-time students; and liaising with other faculty, program coordinators, department heads, support staff, associations and employers as required.


The incumbent will teach, develop curriculum, design/revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning environment for our students, assess student progress and achievement; work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in committees as required during the summer semester.


The incumbent will also support student advising, student recruitment, graduate placement, assist with the promotion and marketing of programs, as well as develop and maintain strong industry ties.
