You are
The _Marketing & Communications Specialist.

_You are responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of marketing, promotion, public relations support, and communications (internal and external) for Manitoba Possible.

The Marketing & Communications Specialist will develop and foster good working relationships with staff and key stakeholders, as well as consistently work to support Manitoba Possible's vision for an inclusive and accessible society.

This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the CEO.


Your Role

  • Assess the results of marketing efforts and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Take photographs and/ or videos of clients, staff, participants & events, and verify appropriate release forms are on file and properly identified for anyone photographed or interviewed.
  • Be a champion of the Manitoba Possible brand and ensure brand standards are met across the organization.
  • Provide advice and develop solutions for best communicating ideas and information to various target audiences.
  • Support and promote fund development campaigns and other key events.
  • Build/ maintain relationships and negotiate with media to develop and execute agencywide and programspecific advertising and promotional campaigns.
  • Ensure materials meet or exceed accessibility standards.
  • Develop and manage website format and content. Collaborate with program managers and others on program content for the Manitoba Possible website.
  • Use techniques, key words, etc. to continue to have Manitoba Possible readily found in various search engines (Search Engine Optimization
  • SEO).
  • Coordinate social media activities for Manitoba Possible, through the various channels (Facebook, Instagram, etc.,), and proactively monitor and respond to online comments and inquiries.
  • Bachelors' degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Two plus years marketing and communications experience. Adept at story gathering and telling.
  • Certification in SEO (Google Skillshop, Udemy, Hubspot, etc).
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, preparing presentations, and negotiating with media.
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
  • Experience with website management and use of social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Adobe products or equivalent video/picture editing software's such as Canva, InDesign, iMovie along with CRM's, QRs, etc.
  • Design background in DMD (Digital Media Design) would be an asset.
  • HTML and web accessibility standards knowledge would be assets.
  • Proficient in Office 365 (including Teams and OneNote), and comfortable with new technology.
  • Photography and videography skills and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem solving skills are required.
  • Self starter, capable of identifying the need for and taking independent action while providing updates on a consistent basis to direct supervisor.
  • Ability to handle pressure while balancing priorities within time and resource constraints.
  • Ability to work both in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers and staff.
  • A basic knowledge of fundraising practices and principles.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit setting an asset.
