Job SummaryThis lab assistant will assist with the PI in assembly of animal testing equipment for stroke assessment.
Organizational Status
This position reports directly to the Senior Technician and indirectly to the PI.
Work Performed
- Assembling animal behavioral testing devices
- Stocking of new parts as they are received.
- Maintaining inventory of parts and documentation of the various steps in the process.
Involves relatively little decision making. All work will be performed in close consultation with senior technicians and research associates. After an initial training period, the incumbent is expected to use initiative to complete tasks as assigned.
Supervision Received
This position receives direction from senior lab technician. Works from oral instructions and to established procedures under direct supervision.

None.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion
High School graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working in a scientific lab is preferred. Effective communication skills, attention to detail and good work ethic are important attributes for this position.
