At Pacific Smoke International, our mission is to help people quit smoking by providing safer alternatives to traditional cigarettes.

As the leading distributor of electronic vaporizers and award-winning vaping products in Canada, we've made significant progress since our founding in 2013.

However, we have much more to accomplish for our customers, and we're looking for a culturally Network and System Administrator to join our dynamic team located in Markham.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Infrastructure Management:
Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot network issues, and optimize network configuration for maximum efficiency and reliability.
Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats.

System Administration:

Administer and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including patch management, software updates, and backups.

User Support and Helpdesk:

Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
Assist users with account management, password resets, access permissions, and system configurations.
Document and maintain knowledge base articles, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.

Security and Compliance:

Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard IT assets and data integrity.
Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate security risks.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) and industry best practices.

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, backup strategies, and contingency measures to minimize downtime and data loss.
Test and validate backup systems, recovery procedures, and failover mechanisms on a regular basis.

To be successful you need:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as a Network and System Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies.
Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience with network infrastructure devices (routers, switches, firewalls), network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and VPN technologies.
Familiarity with security tools and practices, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, and encryption.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with a proactive and customerfocused approach to resolving issues.
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent are a plus.
