Are you a positive high energy person with strong organizational skills, and experience in sales? SaskTel is seeking a highly motivated sales professional with excellent interpersonal skills to be a Media Advisor in our Directwest Sales Division.
Directwest, a division of SaskTel, is the exclusive provider of Mysask411 and has been promoting Saskatchewan small businesses for over a hundred years.
As a Media Advisor with Directwest, you will collaborate with business owners across Saskatchewan to develop effective marketing programs, which enable business owners to achieve their goals.
Using your expertise, you will make strategic marketing recommendations that will enable business owners to successfully reach their target market.
Typical Duties Include:
- Meet with customers in person to identify their business needs, their competitive environment and sales/service objectives
- Analyze customers' needs and recommend the necessary print and digital advertising programs that include products ranging from digital billboards, online advertising, MySask411, local deals and search marketing
- Travel to rural markets to service accounts for consultation and changes to programs
- Prospect new customers
- Occasionally make presentations to large groups of customers
- Prepare and present sales proposals to customers
- Initiate and accurately complete all required forms, contracts, and ad layouts necessary for the fulfillment of the sale
- Maintain current, updated records of sales activities
- Respond, investigate, and resolve customer inquiries and complaints regarding all aspects of print and digital media
- Support & assist other related sales groups in a team approach to provide print and digital media expertise
- Other duties as assigned, including: attend annual sales conferences, host and attend customer events during and outside of normal business hours
What you will bring:
- Grade XII (Level 30) with a preference given to those individuals with postsecondary classes in Administration or Commerce
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
- Must be neat in appearance and wear proper business attire
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have demonstrated sales skills including cold calling, preparation, fact finding, proving value, handling objections and closing
- Must have demonstrated ability to handle paperwork in large volumes with a high rate of accuracy and legibility
- Must have strong computer skills
- Knowledge of SEO, SEM and social media is beneficial
Specifications:
- Must meet revenue objectives
- Must demonstrate the ability to handle customer contacts with tact, diplomacy and courtesy at all times
- Must demonstrate the initiative to develop and present customized sales presentations appropriate to individual and group needs
- Ability to work under continual pressure and demonstrate the flexibility necessary to work in a continually changing environment with strict advertising deadlines
- Overnight travel is required in rural markets
- Sales training provided
- Work collaboratively in a team environment
This permanent Media Advisor position offers:
