Responsible for the overall Human Resources activities for designated business groups to ensure HR business practices are aligned with respective business groups.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees all Corporate SHE (Safety, Health and Environmental) initiatives.
- Oversees all employee disability claims including WCB, WSIB and Disability leave.
- Responsible for maintaining all regulatory reporting for OSHA, OSSA and WSIB.
- Oversees Performance Management and Merit processes.
- Manages HR Budget and expenses.
- Directs and evaluates all Human Resources initiatives to ensure the company is in compliance with Employment Equity and Pay Equity Practices.
- Acts as the lead to review and update all policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and provincial legislations.
- Identifies, evaluates, and resolves employee relations and work performance problems within Business groups in N/A to facilitate communication and improve work performance.
- Participates in regular business group meetings and planning sessions.
- Supports and executes HR programs and initiatives within Business Groups in collaboration with the Canadian HR Team.
- Responsible for benefits plan, retirement plan and personnel transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations
- Responsible for directing and managing all HR operations including recruiting, orientation and training, policies and procedures, compensation administration, benefits, provincial/federal compliance, rewards and recognition programs, health and safety and reduction in force activities as required
- Provides advice and counsel to other senior executives on people issues.
Education & Experience:
- Typically requires a college or university degree with a minimum of 7 years' experience in Human Resources.
- Previous experience working in a defense manufacturing company would be an asset.
- Previous Health and Safety experience is required.
- Previous experience working with HR Systems. i.e. Ceridian Dayforce.
- Eligible for a security clearance.
- A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and US labour laws.
- Ability to work with diverse teams and managers of various functions and disciplines.
- Ability to travel locally and outside of Canada.
