Description

As Purchasing Manager you will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities of the purchasing department and develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures.

Work on lowering inventory levels and cost saving incentives.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Set up vendor managed inventory based on JIT
  • Evaluate cost and quality of goods and services.
  • Establish foreign and domestic suppliers
  • Negotiate purchasing contracts
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials
  • Control manufacturing cost through aggressive negotiation with vendors.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Quality Control departments for product approval.
  • Maintain ISO for department

Job Requirements:

**Qualifications:
  • Purchasing
related education, considered an asset.

  • Five (5) or more years of previous manufacturing purchasing experience
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Superb English language communication ability, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office as asset (Word and Excel)
