Job Summary

Assembles, wires, commissions, installs and services control panels and automated machinery in accordance with customer requirements and external (CSA, ESA, OSHA, etc.), company and department standards and policies.

Essential

Responsibilities:

Working towards competency in:

Assemble and mount control panels and other electrical components
Wires control panels and automated machinery in accordance with customer requirements and external (CSA, ESA, OSHA, etc.), company and department standards and policies
Provide inhouse electrical troubleshooting and service
Keep inventory control and usage of electrical components
Maintain red line electrical drawings for changes made during wiring and debugging
Works in a safe manner in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements (Knowledge, Skill, Ability)

Must have ability to operate hand tools
Must have the ability to take direction and constructive criticism
Must have a keen desire to learn
Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret written and verbal communications in the English language
Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in electrical trade school
Must be able to work with others in a fastpaced environment

Autonomy and Authority

Receives instructions on specific assignments.
Work progress is under regular review

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

Grade 12 high school diploma
Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in electrical trade school
Must have a valid passport and driver's license, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally

Special Requirements (physical demands and work environment):

Must be able to work in all types of manufacturing environments (oil, dust, etc.)
Frequent light and occasional moderate lifting may be required
May be exposed to medium to light noise levels
Must be available to travel for periods of up to 3 weeks
