Position Summary

Reporting to the Resident Care Manager, the Dietician is responsible for assisting residents quality of life by ensuring their nutritional requirements are met.

This is done by developing meal plans as well as providing coaching regarding diet, nutrition, and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing or managing diseases.

This position requires strong critical thinking skills to ensure care plans are individualized to meet residents specific care needs and are they are being reassessed for ongoing updates as necessary.

The ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of all resident, family and staff information is essential to delivering care.


The position requires the ability to communicate in all forms (reading, writing, clear verbal articulation and active listening) to implement recommendations and develop plans and procedures in accordance with Covenant Care's protocol and also with applicable legislation.

Information shared is highly technical and requires mathematical skills as well as the ability to read and analyze reports and data.


This position requires interpersonal skills with an ability to deal effectively with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner, as well as strong organizational and computer skills.

The position requires knowledge of all safety programs to prevent accidents and eliminate hazards on site. Promotion and adherence to safety procedures and ability to implement safety operations is required.
