Architecture49 (A49) is currently seeking a co-op student for our Vancouver office who will assist in realizing a number of important projects both in the public and private sector. The student will engage in multiple phases of the architectural process, which includes but are not limited to, design proposals, schematic and design development, construction drawings as well as permitting, and the construction process. They will be a part of a dedicated project team, where the student will be expected to share ideas and collaborate. The student will also have the opportunity to conduct product research on building materials and finishes, assist in maintaining the building materials library, and other operational functions. At A49 we have a mentorship program that allows students to familiarize themselves with the business, project management, submitting successful proposals, and BIM activities.

What you Will Bring

  • Registered at a college in an Architecture Technologist program
  • Experience with preparation of presentation drawings and diagrams.
  • Ability to create 3D Renderings.
  • Experience with preparing drawings/details at design as well as construction documents phase.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of the BC Building Code.
  • Ability to work autonomously.

A Day in the Life

  • Develop presentation drawings and diagrams with support and supervision from experienced architects.
  • Develop architectural design drawings as well as technical and construction drawings with support and supervision from experienced architects.
  • Create 3D renderings and design visual aids.
  • Collaborate with architects, team members and Project Managers.
