Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Payroll & Accounts Payable Support will be responsible for payroll data entry and management, incentive pay calculations, bi-weekly payroll audit, vacation & sick accrual reconciliations, and to provide support for accounts payable when needed.
Your success within the role is reliant on understanding the objectives and necessity for completing them, servant leadership mentality, excellent communication, and the ability to problem-solve.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner, including timesheet review, department allocation, and reconciliation of vacation and sick accruals.
- Prepare weekly, biweekly, and monthly reports and reconciliations as required.
- Maintain employee payroll records as uptodate and accurate.
- Address payrollrelated queries and requests from employees.
- Coordinate with Assistant Controller to carry out payroll processing.
- Provide accounts payable support when needed to process and enter invoices for payment, match invoices with purchase orders, and check for accuracy.
- Provide accounts payable support when needed to review and follow up on open purchase orders that have not yet been invoiced matched.
- Ensure adequate internal financial controls exist and are followed in the areas of responsibility.
- Ability to modify and create processes and utilize data to more efficiently complete tasks.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of _The Saskatchewan Employment Act_ as it relates to overtime, vacation pay and public holiday pay.
- Effectively work as a member of the administration team.
