Manager, Project Portfolio Management


What is the opportunity?


You will be responsible for driving Portfolio data quality and accuracy of P&CB's Portfolio to enable transparency and decision making.

This will include providing portfolio data governance, data analysis, reporting and insights with a focus on accurate initiative financial management.


You will also provide training and support of Planview Portfolios for P&CB Portfolio users, proactively helping users learn how to leverage the tool.


You are a team player who takes initiative with a proven track record of obtaining results through collaboration, and who is comfortable operating in ambiguity.


What will you do?

  • Work as part of the Portfolio Management team which manages P&CB's investment portfolio, including funding & governance, providing insights to enable decision making
  • Drive Portfolio data quality from the source (Planview Portfolios) as initiatives are onboarded through to ongoing performance measurement and the reporting of insights to enable decision making
  • Drive our portfolio data analysis & data governance practices, and lead data process automation
  • Train & support P&CB Portfolio users on Planview Portfolios; answering questions, & managing requests, as well as engage across RBC to share and learn best practices

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort working at all levels within the organization (Advanced Excel & Analysis)
  • Initiative financial management experience and/or finance experience
  • Strong analytical skills; Ability to gather and analyze relevant information clearly and effectively to make recommendations and/or produce deliverables
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills with a proven track record of obtaining results through partnerships, impact, and influence, and knowing when done is better than perfect
  • Attention to detail accuracy of information

Nice to have:


  • Experience with Planview Portfolios
  • Ability to perform data analysis and manipulation using SAS, Starburst Trino or Python
  • Experience with extracting and analyzing data in a relational database (e.g. Teradata/MS SQL server) and Enterprise Data Lake
  • Experience in using PowerPoint for executive presentations
  • Experience with Tableau, or other data visualization tools, such as Power BI
  • Training experience
