Vice President, UHNW Credit
What is the opportunity?
We are currently seeking a Vice President, UHNW Credit to lead our credit team working with our ultra-high net worth Private Banking clients across the country.
- Delivering bespoke and innovative credit solutions to UHNW clients
- Build and expand market presence amongst UHNW clients across Canada
- Foster and leverage strategic relationships with functional units and crossplatform partners and
- Identify opportunities and assist with the implementation of new product solutions for the UHNW client segment.
Lending to this client segment involves complex loan underwriting and lending structures with credit facilities typically in the $50MM+ range.
As well, they are typically important strategic relationships with business across the enterprise including Canadian Banking, Wealth Management and Corporate Banking.
We are recognized as industry leaders in this market. This is a highly skilled and engaged lending team supported by strong partnership with Risk Management.What will you do?
- Lead, coach and develop a highly engaged team of Private Banking Directors UHNW
- Drive excellent and consistent customer experience, establishing and leading to dedicated turnaround times, flexing deal flow effectively across team, active monitoring and followup
- Ensuring our lending solutions are creative and leading edge, reflective of the financial strength and enterprise value of the client base. Ensure we build strong structures and business cases
- Drive significant growth in our complex lending business and maintain our leadership position
- Work closely with our Private Banking Strategy team as well as key partners in Risk, Product, Operations and Sales to build our complex lending capability
- Provide strategic leadership to ensure our product offering is best in class and our delivery model scalable for future growth
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
years experience in Private Banking, Corporate/Capital Markets or Senior Commercial Markets
- Strong lending experience including the ability to formulate creative lending solutions, build effective loan structures and complete thorough loan underwriting
- University graduate with business related skills and knowledge and relevant designations to support UHNW credit (e.g. CFA, MBA, CA, CFP)
- Strong client focus and negotiating skills as well as ability to manage to tight timelines and work with numerous stakeholders within and outside the bank
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken & written
- The ability to partner and lever other areas of expertise within the bank in the development of solutions will be essential (e.g., Risk Management, Business Banking, Capital Markets, Insurance)
- Desire and capacity to concurrently drive business performance and strategic business
- Experience leading, coaching and developing a high performing team to results and high employee engagement

- Ability and experience driving new business strong new business orientation including leveraging COI network
