Specific Accountabilities:


  • With a social service mindset, supports student access and success by advising students on all areas related to enrolment services, including admissions, financial aid, tuition fees & payment, registration, transfer credits, schedules, and graduation.
  • Provides specialized student services including assessing qualifications of prospective students, generating admission decisions, and maintenance of student records.
  • Provides indepth advice on financial assistance programs and policies to students and other stakeholders.
  • Administers academic and financial policies by processing documentation pertaining to registration, fee payments, course and program changes, withdrawals, refunds and grades.
  • Conducts credential audits to ensure eligibility for promotion and graduation.
  • Assists in the facilitation, coordination and implementation of services that support the ability of students to move from registration to graduation.
  • Assesses student progress in programs from term to term based on academic standing policies and established requisites.
  • Provides financial counselling and makes recommendations for emergency bursary support for students in financial distress.
  • Assesses student OSAP appeals/reviews in compliance with established policies, and procedures.
  • Issues shortterm emergency loans to students in crisis.
  • Supports community outreach efforts
  • Event Coordinator for the annual Convocation Ceremony responsible for various tasks related to the successful execution of the event, taking a leadership role in meetings related to convocation activities.
  • Actively participates in the planning an execution of the ceremony.

About the Position:

This is a temporary, full time support staff position replacing a bargaining unit employee. This position will start as soon as possible and end August 1, 2025. Working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $38.01/HR, reporting to the Associate Registrar.


The Enrolment Services Professional is the primary contact for students, faculty, community agencies and the public, for all Enrolment Service functions throughout the student life cycle, ensuring students have access to a post-secondary education and promoting student success through to graduation.

The incumbent provides direct support to students, faculty and staff on various complex admission, financial aid, registration, and audit matters and liaises on the student's behalf with other departments.


The incumbent provides in-depth advice and assistance on financial aid options to students, parents/partners, and other third parties (including Ministry, Second Career providers and Sponsors) in compliance with Ministry guidelines.

The ESP advises students on financial aid opportunities and the availability of resources to achieve their educational and career goals.

The incumbent is the specialist responsible for the coordination of the annual Convocation Ceremony.


Qualifications:


  • 3year diploma or degree in a field related to Community/Social Services or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 3years' relevant workrelated experience in a position that processes specialized information while interacting with customers, providing guidance, and resolving problems, preferably in an educational environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to use tact, diplomacy and judgement as needed
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, preferably with demonstrated experience in providing advisory and information services to clients facing difficult or challenging personal and/or financial circumstances
  • Ability to work in a team environment, problemsolve, organize, and prioritize duties, make decisions, work independently, and possess effective conflict resolution s
