Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Sport and Rec and taking day-to-day direction from the Manager, Child and Youth, the incumbent provides professional and dynamic leadership to the Faculty's Child and Youth program.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Determining logístical details and activities for events and/or programming
- Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
- Implementing plans and process improvements for program activities
- Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
- Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
- Coordinating the recruitment process and training of casual staff
- Coordinating staff schedule to ensure proper coverage
- Directing the activities of casual staff
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or Sport Administration or an equivalent acceptable combination of education and experience. Standard First Aid, Basic CPR
- Minimum two years experience planning, developing and implementing children's sport and recreation programs for a diverse range of clients
- Familiarity with the theories and legislation related to child safety and supervision
- Minimum two years experience scheduling athletic programs
- Experience providing oversight and guidance to casual employees
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability and desire to take initiative
- Ability to remain professional in high pressure situations
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality

- Strong computer skills including experience with FUSION or a similar recreation management software
