NEC is currently seeking a Student &Financial Aid Advisor to fill a temporary vacancy in the Admission department.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming and supportive contact for prospective students.
- Oversee and evaluate (where required) entrance assessments.
- Process student registration forms and update the student database with funding and admissions information. Maintain student financial aid files.
- Determine eligibility for assistance with transportation costs and coordinate postsecondary students' transit program.
- Oversee production of photo ID.
- Other duties and cultural work from time to time as called upon in the Longhouse.
Qualifications:
- A degree in a related field with at least three years' experience in public relations, student advising or high
- Initiative, resourcefulness, and creativity in project management.
- Proficiency in student or contact management data systems.
- Sound judgment, tact, excellent interpersonal skills and works effectively with students, staff and community.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge, experience with and understanding of Indigenous issues related to postsecondary education required.
- Ability to travel and availability to work evenings and weekend as required.
Start/End Date:
ASAP
Hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday (35 hr/wk)
Salary:
$26.
51/hour (As per Collective Agreement)Application Details:
