Wipro is seeking for Linux Administrator to join our collaborative team.

Linux Administrator


Location:
Calgary, Alberta, Canada


  • Good understanding of UNIX OS (both Linux and Solaris).
  • Hands on experience on Linux Volume Manager (LVM) and Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) along with Veritas Volume Manager and Cluster installation and configuration ( preferring Red Hat or Veritas Cluster
  • VCS ).
  • Good knowledge along with hands on experience on Solaris Zones and Ldoms.
  • Understanding of Hardware.
  • Effective Planning and Execution Skills Good Troubleshooting skills.
  • Can handle all technical escalations under Unix domain.
  • Can guide on Processes / SOPs and other documents.
  • Can handle OS Audits.
  • Can Lead the Team Operationally and Technically.
  • Good knowledge along with hands on experience on Linux Operating System RHEL 6/7/8 & Solaris 101
  • Good understanding along with hands on experience on Linux Volume Manager (LVM)
  • Good understanding along with hands on experience on Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) and Veritas Volume Manager
  • Having hands on experience on Cluster Technology (preferred is RedHat Cluster and Veritas Cluster)
  • Good understanding of User Management (preferred an experience on LDAP)
  • Good understanding of LDOM and Solaris Zones
  • SAN / NAS troubleshooting and configuration at client level
  • Having hands on experience on physical severs (console access / capturing consoles logs and auditing of console logs)
  • Having knowledge on system provisioning, administration, and OS Patching.
  • Strong scripting skills (Ansible, Bash, Perl, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understand IT AUDIT and can handle internal and external IT Audit.
  • Maintain the system in accordance with established standards and can work to fix on vulnerabilities if identified with domain.
  • Recommend improvements to the system (SIP) to maintain an efficient and accurate process as per customer guidelines and expectations.
  • Understand vendor management process.
  • A techie who can handle day to day UNIX Operations and Escalations.
  • Open to work in 24X7 production support for Linuxbased systems in the missioncritical banking domain, ensuring high availability and reliability.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Linux administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, including Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
  • Expertlevel knowledge of Linuxbased system architecture, configuration, and administration.
  • Strong scripting skills (Ansible, Bash, Perl, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications such as RHCE, LPIC, or SUSE CLA are highly desirable.
  • ITIL Foundation certification is required.
  • Strong experience with RedHat PCS Cluster
  • Experience with RedHat GFS
  • Experience with ServiceNow is an asset.
  • Understanding and adherence to ITIL framework is a must.
  • SAN / NAS troubleshooting and configuration at client level

  • Effective technical documentation skillsets to clearly communicate procedures and developments to other IT personnel.
