The Construction division of Northland Properties Corporation is looking for a Construction Manager in Winnipeg.

As a Construction Manager, you will report to the Project Manager and take charge of the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Ensure onsite safety performance aligns with company policies and legislative standards.
  • Monitor all onsite and offsite constructions to ensure compliance with building regulations and specifications.
  • Oversee the field execution of subcontractors, reviewing invoice schedules.
  • Optimize Construction Execution through sequencing and resourcing with subcontractors and directperform activities.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and proactively resolve any emerging issues.
  • Work closely with the project manager to control costs and identify potential costsaving measures.
  • Assist in creating construction schedules, ensuring adherence to project timelines, standards, and budget parameters, and providing weekly reports on schedule adherence.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Set targets, objectives, and responsibilities for all supervised staff.
  • Select tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Review work progress on a daily basis.
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, and others working on the project.
  • Identify, mitigate, and track recurring construction issues.
  • Conduct site visits to inspect work, check materials, and ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.

Requirements:


  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Construction Manager overseeing highrise concrete construction projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
  • Expert knowledge of building products, concrete from work, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Expert knowledge of building products, concrete work, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large construction teams and successfully handle subcontracting.
  • Ability Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
  • Experience in overseeing multidiscipline construction installations.
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages.
  • Ability to plan and oversee the entire project lifecycle, understanding the "big picture".
  • Competency in conflict resolution and crisis management.
  • Strong leadership and human resources management skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
