Description
Mosaic Transit Constructors (Mosaic) - a consortium comprised of Aecon, Dragados, and Dufferin - is
partnering with Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to design, build and maintain the transformative
Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT) system in the City of Toronto.
Position:
Traffic Control Coordinator
Reports to:
Assistant Traffic and Transportation Manager**
Essential Functions:Traffic Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the traffic control operations in compliance with
Mosaic Transit Group's (MTG) approved Traffic and Transit Management Plan for the project.
Duties:
- Coordinate and execute obligations contained in the Project Agreement regarding pedestrian
costs for lane closures and compiling and presenting cost reports for monthly meeting with
client.
- Engage actively and regularly with internal construction teams and subcontractors to develop,
escalation of roadblocks when encountered.
- Coordinate development, delivery, and approval of traffic control plans, transit management
and transportation management plans) by design consultants, including submission to
authorities having jurisdiction (City of Toronto, TTC, EMS, etc.), and tracking to acceptance.
- Coordinate development, delivery, and approval of PHM125 designs of temporary and
signal timing cards and input to improve the operations and to ensure the phasing is per
applicable standard, and tracking to acceptance.
- Administrate the design services contracts for the design consultants, under direction of
coordination of recurring progress meetings, monthly progress tracking, accruals, invoice
approvals, and issuance of change orders as required.
- Coordinate with internal communications department for the development and issuance of
delays.
- Participate in biweekly traffic management committee and community liaison committee
- Attend internal coordination meetings with all construction teams and provide updates as
- Review and update the project schedule and attend coordination meetings with internal design
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil and Transportation Engineering**
- Knowledge of Engineering software such as PrimaverP6, AutoCAD**
- Ability to effectively communicate with tact and diplomacy**
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)**
- Knowledge of construction projects, with experience in heavy civil, rail and Light Rapid Transit
decisions***
Working Conditions/ Physical Effort:
- Able to perform in a fast
- paced environment
- Prolonged sedentary positioning
- Walking, lifting, equipment operation, etc.
- Moderate physical activities
- Ability to use stairs, ladders and climb over rough terrain
- Primary work location is the Project site for Mosaic Transit Group
