    Here is what you will be doing:

    The Senior Advisor, Engagement strategically leads, plans, and supports implementation of corporate engagement activities to advance impactful, meaningful engagement across the organization. This motivated individual applies significant expertise and experience in engagement best practices. Communication and relationship building skills and the initiative to drive deliverables forward in a complex environment are essential. The Senior Advisor is responsible for managing high priority, complex deliverables, and engagement-specific processes.

    Here is what you will need to be successful:

  • Lead and provide subject matter expertise, strategic advice, and general counsel for Engagement to Ontario Health team members and leaders
  • Develop and/or support stakeholder, patient and family engagement plans
  • Provides strategic engagement project leadership, managing/supporting the delivery of Ontario Health engagement initiatives within projected scope, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Support the management of corporate stakeholder relationships
  • Conduct jurisdictional scans, seek and apply novel engagement methods and evaluate their impact. Assist in measurement projects as needed to improve engagement practices at Ontario Health.
  • Develop, implement, and manage evaluation plans to ensure engagement at Ontario Health is impactful and meaningful for all involved
  • Working within a team, drive the integration of patient and family engagement into Ontario Health's culture as "the way we do things" and support a culture of person-centred care
  • Active contributor and participant in working groups to advance engagement within Ontario Health
  • Input into development and support implementation of corporate policies to support engagement
  • Create and contribute to stakeholder communications
  • Create and contribute to available engagement tools and resources based on best practices for the organization
  • Education and Experience

  • An undergraduate degree is required
  • Masters degree in public health, health studies, health administration, social sciences or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years of patient/family engagement or related work experience
  • Experience working in a large-scale organization, public sector and/or healthcare experience highly preferred
  • Experience in managing resources and working across teams to deliver on business plans and strategies
  • Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with engagement principles, frameworks and practices in patient, community and stakeholder engagement
  • Knowledge and application of engagement evaluation/measurement approaches and tools. Data governance in respect to data collection, quality and management.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn from others
  • Strong proven written, oral and presentation skills (i.e. the ability to connect with diverse audieences). Experience developing professional reports, briefing notes, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Knowledge of health system stakeholders and how the health system works in Ontario
  • Familiarity with provincial health care legislation
  • Solid understanding of health equity and social determinants of health
  • High degree of collaboration and the ability to achieve program/project objectives while protecting/enhancing the Ontario Health's reputation
  • Ability to work flexibly, under pressure, as part of a team and independently and manage multiple work streams
  • Sound judgement, discretion, and decision-making ability
  • Solution oriented and forward thinking
  • Proficient within Office365
  • Sound leadership skills with the ability and experience to work across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
  • Employment Type: Temporary (fixed-term) Full-time

    Paygrade: 6

    Location: Ontario (currently hybrid)
