Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the Room Attendant is responsible for providing superior service to guest rooms and other areas of the hotel.

The physical demands of cleaning require Room Attendants to be in good physical condition. Friendly and courteous guest relations skills and outstanding attention to detail is required.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Inspect each room for damage and wear and report same to supervisor.

Thoroughly clean all areas of guest rooms including furniture, floors and bathroom fixtures in an efficient & timely manner.

Stock cart with room supplies.


Change bed linens, replace towels, facecloths, restock paper products, complimentary toiletries and refreshments offered while honoring the guest privacy while meeting hotel standards.

Safely handle cleaning solutions and properly operate cleaning equipment.


Preferred Education & Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.

Must be able to work safely with a variety of cleaning chemicals.

Must be a team player while also work independently.

Must be available to work weekends, holidays and at times on short notice.

Proven customer service skills.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
  • Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
  • Strip and make beds, changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
  • Push and pull vacuum throughout entire room and empty trash.
  • Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room.
  • Sign for room keys, retrieve, push to assigned rooms and restock heavy cart. Visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance and signify completion for room.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work weekends and holidays

Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment. Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces.


Description Summary:
Responsible for the cleanliness, arrangement and supply of all guest rooms in an assigned section.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction through room cleanliness and attention to guest needs.
  • Check fixtures, television, radio, and heating/cooling equipment for proper operation.
  • Set heating/cooling equipment and radio on proper settings.
  • Inspect room for maintenance needs and report on maintenance service requests.
  • Perform daily general clean duties and changing of bedspreads, blankets, mattress pads and shower curtains as assigned.
  • Log rooms cleaned on daily housekeeping report.
  • Fold terry and linen while waiting for rooms.
  • Clean, organize, and restock cart at the end of the day terry, cups, toilet paper, rags, and fill spray bottles Deliver supply basket to laundry for restocking.
  • Maintain cart, linen room, and vacuum cleaner cleanliness. Turn in key and room status report to Guest Room Supervisor or Front Desk.
  • Know how to operate laundry equipment and maintain public area cleanliness.
  • Must wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Practice safety standards at all times.
  • Be able to move luggage, packages, or furniture weighing up to 40lbs.
  • Employee must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
  • Employee must perform other duties as assigned, of which the employee is capable.

Pay:
From $17.00 per hour
