Description
Position Summary :This course explores a range of subjects related to the relationship between violent conflict, refugees, and education. The focus of the course is to give students a comprehensive understanding of the impact of war on education, the importance of refugee education, the role of international agencies, access to/or lack of inclusive quality education in host countries and countries of resettlement, and inclusive, anti-racist, and trauma-informed approaches to refugee education. The course will also review the role of universities, as independent entities, in refugee higher education as well as innovations and future directions on giving voice to refugees as knowledge assets of societies.
Regular responsibilities include in-class lectures, holding office hours to consult with students, responding to student emails and marking.
