Description

This is a full-time support staff Bargaining Unit position reporting to the Associate Director, Co-Op Education & Experiential Learning, working 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $33.38.

Please note this is a less than 12 month position - working 10 months per year.


The Incumbent is responsible for being the first point of contact for all students in a co-op and internship program.

They will develop and deliver a variety of presentations to educate and promote Co-op/Internship services, resources and tools.


Specific Accountabilities:


  • Maintains, updates, and delivers Coop Readiness Activities necessary to complete eligibility requirements for Coop and Internship students supported through D2L
  • Develops and applies strategies to best support students in the completion of all Career Readiness Activities as a key part of Coop Eligibility
  • Creates and delivers an extensive communication strategy utilizing multiple methods of communication and several touch points to ensure students are aware of expectations and deadlines to successfully complete requirements for Coop eligibility
  • Coaches and advises students on areas related to Career Readiness Activity modules (coop policy and procedures, student responsibilities, resume, job search, networking, myCareer system)
  • Manages internal tracking system to determine completion of all eligibility criteria for Coop
  • Applies outreach strategies to students not engaged and/or not on track for completion
  • Completes administrative processes, document trails, other metric systems for purpose of capturing data, including employer and student satisfaction results, participation levels, and other coop success measures
  • Works collaboratively with academic and student service departments to ensure the coherence and cohesiveness of the cooperative education operations model

Qualifications:


  • 3 year diploma or degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Social Science

Minimum of 5 years experience in the following:

  • Developing and delivering presentations, strong professional presentation skills
  • Data management systems and processes, tracking, analyzing and developing statistical reports with data
  • Developing and maintaining content within D2L and Teams
  • Supporting individuals with job search/career advising
  • Strong technical skills ability to navigate and troubleshoot multiple systems to support department operations and students using the systems
  • Advanced problem solving, assessment and evaluation skills
  • High degree of professionalism and diplomacy
  • Knowledge of Canadian labour market, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Lambton College programs, employment trends and marketing techniques
  • Project Management experience an asset
  • Experience with Colleague and Orbis are an asset
