triOS College Business Technology Healthcare Inc. is actively seeking a
Copy Editor to join the Academic Services team.


Primary Purpose:


The Copy Editor is responsible for reviewing and proofreading all copy before it is delivered to students and faculty on our digital learning platform.

The primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy of grammar and spelling (using our structured course templates) and make changes to improve language quality, flow, and tone.


The Copy Editor is passionate about the correct use of grammar and punctuation, and has experience working in APA, MLA and/or AMA styles.

The types of content that will require editing include course outlines, course content, lecture slides/PowerPoints, exams, assignments, webpages and more.


The Copy Editor will support the vision, mission, and values of triOS College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness; embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Edit and proofread all materials prior to upload into our Learning Management System (D2L Brightspace).
  • Ensure accuracy and readability.
  • Maintain consistency according to college design standards.
  • Work with Faculty Heads, Subject Matter Experts, Instructional Designers, Project Managers, and Digital Content team to incorporate edits or make changes as required. Additionally, ensure that the finished product is perfect, both grammatically and visually.
  • Meet editorial deadlines.
  • Make recommendations to team members when necessary.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in English or a related field.
  • Technical Writing Certificate is an asset.
  • 23 years experience in editing digital content.
  • Experience working in APA, MLA and/or AMA styles.
  • Familiarity with the postsecondary education sector is an asset.
  • Passionate about correct use of grammar and punctuation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Detailoriented and collaborative.
  • Ability to work independently in a fastpaced, remote working environment.

Hours of Work:

This is a full-time permanent role. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
