Black & McDonald's Southwest Ontario Service team is growing If you are a committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.

The Project Coordinator position is located in Stoney Creek and reports to the Project Team Supervisor.

Working primarily within our existing client base, the Project Coordinator is focused on supporting the service project sales team through project management, safety & quality assurance activities, document creation & management, estimating & sales assistance.

The Project Coordinator will assist in delivering safe, quality projects to our clients with focused efforts on execution and completion of jobs which will allow for increased sales potential across the entire Sales team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Project management and execution of sold projects
  • Ensure sold projects are delivered & executed safely, to quality standards and in a timely manner while keeping within scope and budget
  • Schedule & coordinate project work, required resources, internally (peers, operations, manpower, field technicians, etc.) & externally (clients, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, authorities, etc.)
  • Assist with/perform requisition of purchase orders, invoicing, insurance certificates, prepare notice of project, form 1000's, other authority requirements (e.g. ESA, TSSA, MoL), etc.
  • Review & approve vendor & supplier invoices for accuracy and timely payment approvals
  • Document creation & management general support
  • Photo documentation & management
  • Assemble safety boards, assist with safety plans & monitoring of related activity
  • Preparation & management of related documentation sales, execution schedules, project closeout (technical, financial/admin), equipment list updates, drawings/layouts, etc.
  • Assemble & prepare power point presentations
  • Create & update drawings to assist with client asset management, asbuilt records and project sales
  • Assist with sales team efforts including client review, estimate support and design build
  • Help manage and update customer relationship management (CRM) software
  • Help prepare estimates and client facing documents
  • Analyse available information & data to help prepare client partnership & improvement strategies help identify gaps & opportunities (client reviews)
  • Attend client/project sites as required to execute work, support sales or client initiatives
  • Attend regular service sales & safety meetings
  • Assist with asset management, labelling, planning

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in any of the following or similar fields:

  • Mechanical engineering, energy systems & sustainability
  • Construction & project management


  • Technical trade(s)

  • HVAC/R, Electrician, Plumber, etc.
Or similar related work experience (~4 years)


WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • No work experience required
  • 13 years work experience in a related field is an asset

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient knowledge & understanding of organization & time management ability to manage several projects and activities concurrently often with tight timelines
  • General knowledge of the built environment (building/facility/process) mechanical, heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, energy systems including related standards & good practice
  • Valid G drivers license
  • Proficient user of Microsoft suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • AutoCAD experience
  • MS Project experience an asset
