About the role
We're looking for a
Personal Lines Manager to join our growing team

As a Personal Insurance Manager, your work will have a big impact on the Personal Lines underwriting department. People will count on you for the overall direction and management of employees.

You will be responsible for motivating a high performing team, leading by example, enhancing and developing broker relationships and maintaining a strong customer focused approach while advising on solutions.

This position is a 12 month opportunity, working in the Vancouver office a minimum of 3 days per week.


What you'll do here:


  • Develop methods to inspire and build a highly effective and engaged team capable of meeting the current and future needs through effective leadership
  • Develop, recommend, and implement leadership strategies, organizational structure, and processes/technology improvement initiatives
  • Organize, lead and assist in the delivery of corporate audits of each of the regions within the regional division
  • Provide effective leadership by continuously keeping staff informed on initiatives and results and share responsibility for the overall performance, productivity, and engagement of team members
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with the Regional Managers and underwriters, as well as your counterparts across the country and across distribution channels
  • Act as an ambassador for Personal Insurance liaising with Operations and Planning, Operational Performance, Sales and Business Development and Claims Management on planning, technical and administrative issues
  • Play a key and active role in the selection process and hiring of qualified staff

Requirements:


  • Current IFC management experience preferred
  • Strong skills in coaching and mentoring, and proven success in team building and managing relationships is required including lead national and/or regional projects
  • Personal Lines Underwriting experience is a strong asset
  • Strong negotiation and sales skills to work effectively with brokers
  • Effectively collaborate with regional and national teams
  • CIP or FCIP preferred
