  • Work Location: Calgary / Edmonton
  • This role is eligible for hybrid work. This means you'll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office after 3 months in the role (first 3 months 100% in office).
  • General Accountability
  • Responsible for investigating, evaluating and coordinating injury benefits for automobile accident benefit claims. Determines coverage in accordance with policy wordings and applicable automobile accident benefits legislation and regulations.
Key Accountabilities

Claims Adjusting- Adjudicates both routine and moderately complex accident benefit claims.- Assigns, conducts and oversees investigations and examines, negotiates and settles accident benefits claims.- Maintains a diary system to monitor and ensure delivery of accident benefits payments in accordance with the regulations.- Ensure files are up to date with all information, notes and documentation.- Maintains proper reserves as per exposure and developments.- Liaises with clinicians to focus on early intervention, through rehabilitation to help injured persons return to their pre-accident status.- Develops, monitors and redefines, in concert with injured persons, employers, treating practitioners and/or other interested parties, vocational rehabilitation plans including return to work and graduated return to work plans- Gathers and analyzes employment-related information necessary to calculate Income Replacement Benefits.

Corporate Management- Enables the success of programs and policies that are in alignment with corporate, strategic and divisional strategies.- Manages risk in area of authority.- Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility.


Education and Experience- A two-year diploma from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Business years' experience in adjudicating accident benefit claims.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of the principles and practices of insurance, claims policies and procedures, and automobile insurance products.- Knowledge of Alberta's automobile accident benefits legislation and regulations, including the Diagnostic and Treatment Protocols.- Knowledge of medical terminology, injuries and vocational rehabilitation concepts.
