Position Summary


Reporting to the Director of Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) Operations and Projects, the Manager of Strategic Enrolment Operations and Projects supports the College's immediate and long-term enrolment goals by overseeing operational and logístical support of the College's SEM Framework (SEM Council and Standing Committees) and its projects and initiatives, and takes a lead role in the College's enrolment management processes.

SEM Framework Operations

The Manager provides operational and logístical support to the SEM Council and Standing Committees, coordinating meetings, compiling/storing information and data, responding to research requests, and promoting engagement of college stakeholders to carry out the work of the Council and committees.


The Manager also serves as coordinator and has oversight for projects and proposals from SEM Standing Committees and Council, assisting with business cases and budget planning, working with project leads, liaising with the Project Management Office (PMO) and Finance, and tracking projects and initiatives associated with the SEM Framework from inception to completion.

Enrolment Management

A key role of the Manager is to prepare for and coordinate the annual student enrolment planning process by engaging with all academic schools, financial planning, enrolment services and other stakeholders to articulate, negotiate and confirm annual/semester new student targets that meet the college's strategic enrolment goals.

The Manager verifies the data integrity and security of the college's enrolment templates, distributing them appropriately during the planning cycle and works with finance and enrolment services to transfer the data to the college's student and financial systems.


Supporting the Director, the Manager takes a lead role in monitoring the ongoing progress toward meeting enrolment goals, ensuring that programs of concern are identified and referred to appropriate areas for intervention.

The Manager works closely with Data Analytics and Research Office (DARO) to meet the data and research needs of the SEM division and SEM Council and Standing Committees, compiling a suite of reliable reports and dashboards to track admission and enrolment data.


As a member of the SEM management team, the Manager contributes to the divisional business plan, budget, and new initiatives.

They provide reports on the progress of projects and develop metrics to measure and analyze the effectiveness of their operations.

They also monitor their department budget, making recommendations for cost savings or expenditures that will enhance SEM activities.


Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum fouryear degree in Business Administration, Business Operations, or Project Management, or equivalent education, skills and experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of related progressive work experience in a postsecondary education environment, gaining an understanding of the principles and practices of strategic enrolment management and planning.
  • Record of successful project completion (on time and within the stated budget) and more than one full life cycle (starttoend) managing of a project.
  • Supervisory experience combined with experience effectively leading teams, planning, and overseeing project delivery.
  • Experience influencing and gaining buyin from executive sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers using interpersonal, relationship management, conflict resolution and negotiating skills.
  • Proven experience in developing, monitoring, and directing budget activities.
  • Advanced written and oral communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical skills with business/project management and operations.
