Job Title:
C02 Extraction Technician


Location:
Pickering, ON


Working hours:8:00 a.m., to 4:00 p.m.; 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.; 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.


About the Role:


Reporting to the Extraction Manager, the Extraction Technician will be responsible for Co2 extraction of Cannabis as part of the Extraction Team.

We are looking for an experienced Extraction Technician with knowledge of closed loop systems and solvent extraction.


Responsibilities:


  • Processes raw Cannabis products into crude oil using closed loop co2 extraction
  • Identifies and notifies the Extraction Manager of any issues during refinement, purification, crystallization, and distillation that deviate from the norm or can interfere with product quality
  • Ensures the effective execution of processing tasks within established company policy, procedure and requirements related to safety, quality, and compliance (SLP, SOP, GPP)
  • Meticulously performs and accurately documents all work as directed in the SOPs, GPP, and other applicable regulatory guidance
  • Completes daily housekeeping tasks in each processing room and common space, ensures proper disposal of all waste and hazardous chemical waste
  • Strictly adheres to hygiene and health & safety guidelines as described by the Company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • As the company expands, assists with the education and guidance of new staff in lab protocols, SWP, SJP and overall safety awareness.
  • Routinely interfaces directly with crossfunctional teams
  • Performs calibration and maintenance on laboratory instruments as required
  • Monitors use and inventories of chemicals and supplies through inventory control systems, identifies any inventory issues or concerns and systematically reports them to the Extraction Manager in a timely and efficient manner
  • Other ad hoc tasks as operationally required needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a sciencerelated field or equivalent required
  • Winterization and distillation experience (preferred)
  • 2+ years of Extraction experience or equivalent work experience
  • A working knowledge of lab techniques, terminology, equipment and materials
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with multiple internal department
  • Strong attention to detail, including the ability to detect quality defects and perform accurate counts and measurements
  • Strong teamwork skills, works well as a team member in a fastpaced environment
  • A reputation of being dependable and punctual
  • The ability to adhere to strict procedures and schedules
  • Effective time management skills with an ability to multitask efficiently
  • The ability to establish priorities, work quickly, accurately, and independently with mínimal supervision; demonstrates selfmotivation and initiative
  • A strong work ethic and a positive team attitude
  • The willingness to maintain an open mind and learn new techniques
  • Proficient computer skills including Windowsbased operating systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Office, and other programs and software as required
  • Passed all professional and legal background checks
