Description
DUTIES
The department of Literatures, Languages, and Performing Arts at Thompson Rivers University requires a sessional instructor to teach 1 section of Acting Appreciation (THTR 1110), and 1 section of Introduction to Acting (THTR 1210) in the BA theatre major program.
Instruction in THTR 1110 includes an examination of some basic aspects of acting including: stage movement, improvisation, and character development.
This course is designed to develop the actor's inner resources so they can begin to appreciate that acting, like other traditional art forms, demands a methodical approach for the development of a techniques that can then be applied in the presentation of a finished product.
Instruction in THTR 1210 is a continuation of the work begun in Theatre 1110 and is intended to present the acting student with specific performance experiences that will allow the actor to use the techniques developed last semester.
Work is done on vocal development and students will focus on the analysis and the development of the character for the stage.
Working with a script, the study of the actor's role in the performance situation will be emphasized.QUALIFICATIONS
(Theatre/ Performance) Required.
All candidates should submit a current CV including names of 3 referees along with contact information.
