DUTIES

The Thompson Rivers University School of Nursing has sessional faculty positions available in the Health Care Assistant (HCA) program during the period May - September, 2024. Course include:

HEAL Introduction to Health and Healing: Concepts for Practice
HEAL Introduction to Health 1: Interpersonal Communication
HEAL Introduction to Practice
HEAL Introduction to Healing 3: Personal Care and Assistance(Theory & Lab)
HEAL Introduction to Healing 1: Caring for Individual with Common Health Challenges
HEAL Introduction to Healing 2: Caring for Individuals with Cognitive and/or Mental Health Challenges

The successful candidate(s) will teach theory and/or lab & practice courses within the HCA program and will organize activities related to HCA including but not limited to attending meetings, clinical agency liaison, development of student clinical assignments and conducting evaluations.

• Masters required - Masters in progress may be considered;
• Undergraduate degree must be in nursing;
• RN, LPN, BScN, and RPN applicants with applicable experience are encouraged to apply. The non-qualified language would apply if successful;
• Practicing licence/membership with BCCNM required;
• Teaching experience at the program level preferred; and/or
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Long Term Care, in a nurse/client relationship.
