Additional Information:
The Oscar Peterson School of Music is looking for a creative and dynamic piano instructor specializing in the development and support of young beginners aged 4 to 7.
- Delivering highquality instruction to beginner piano students aged 4 to
- Following RCM curriculum and examinations.
- Focusing on all aspects of playing with a concentration on fundamentals; proper playing technique, sound production, articulation, musicianship, etc.
- Assisting with recruitment and retention of students in the School's signature Music Enrichment Program.
Minimum required of Saturday and one weekday within the time ranges below:
- Saturdays; 8:30 am 4:30 pm
- Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays & Thursdays; 3:30 pm 9 pm
Job Requirements:
What We're Looking For:
- A Bachelor of Music degree in music education or performance; Master of Music preferred (or equivalent).
- At least 5 years' experience teaching piano lessons.
- RCM Teacher Certification.
- Certification early childhood education, such as Orff preferred.
- A proven track record as a successful Music Educator for young students.
- Experience working with children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
- Thorough knowledge of RCM Celebration Series.
- Experience with Suzuki methodology would be a benefit.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Selfmotivated, disciplined and goal oriented.
- Strong passion for working with young students.
- A team player who is interested in contributing to the community and culture of the Royal Conservatory.
Additional Requirements:
- A valid Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
