Opportunity


Pacific Community Resources Society is seeking an energetic and engaging Employment Facilitator to compliment the team at the WorkBC center.

The Employment Facilitator facilitates in-person and virtual group and one to one workshop relating to life skills, job search and career development topics, and supports participants while they work independently on their job search in the resource room.


Responsibilities:

The Employment Facilitator will be responsible for researching and providing suggestions for workshop curriculum changes to program leadership.

The facilitator will research and provide up to date labor market information, group, and individual activities, and monitor online workshops.

This position allows for creatively finding solutions to equip participants who have varying needs with the tools they need to find sustainable employment.

It is imperative that the Employment Facilitator demonstrates the ability to support a diverse population and takes initiative to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for participants and staff.

This position requires working evenings and weekends based on operational need.


Qualifications:

Certification / Degree and experience in employment services, adult learning or other relevant field AND/OR

  • Certification to deliver life skills workshops/counselling, career development advising, and/or vocational rehabilitation AND/OR
  • Working with and supporting individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds.
  • Solid comprehension of career development and labor market needs and trends.
- _An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered._

  • Criminal record check including the vulnerable sector.
  • Knowledge of the local labor market and trends.
  • MS Office and overall computer proficiency including data administration utilizing databases.
Additional Assets

  • Qualifications to administer interest and personality assessments such as the Strong Interest Inventory and Personality Dimensions.
  • Mental Health First Aid certification.
  • De-Escalation/Non-Violent Intervention training.

  • Motivational Interviewing techniques.
