Job Description:
Accountable for providing assistance to the Public Affairs team.
Key Responsibilities- Monitoring mainstream, regional, trade and multi-cultural media.- Monitoring various social media platforms.- Assists with writing articles that could be pitched to the media.- Assists with writing social media posts for various platforms.- Assists with writing video scripts as required.- Assists with writing FSRA web content as required.- Assists with writing communications plans as required.- Helps research and update the FSRA media contact list.- Helps research special days and updating the current list.- Helps with interview preparation.- Helps conduct research to support committee appearances and future events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience- Currently enrolled in post-secondary school on a full-time basis and returning to full-time studies in September Enrolled in a college level public relations/corporate communications program is required.
Knowledge and Skills- Basic knowledge of communications theory and techniques, communications planning methods and practices, media organizations and media relations, and publication production techniques and methods.- Writing and editing skills to research and write accurate, clear, complete, and relevant articles, video scripts, web content, and other material.- Understanding of media research methods and practices. Collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment.- Attention to detail and organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to use discretion when dealing with confidential information.
