    Description

    Dragados Canada, Inc., the Canadian construction arm of the ACS Group (one of the world's largest international construction and engineering companies), is seeking a talented and experienced Environmental Coordinator to join its dynamic and energetic team.


    Dragados Canada was established in 2008 and has grown steadily into an industry-leader in Canada, with offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, successfully performing a variety of large-scale transportation, bridge, dam, tunnel, and other major infrastructure projects.


    Salary range:
    $63,000-$75,000 (based on relevant experience, qualifications, and skills).

    Note:
    This is a site-based position

    Responsibilities

    Coordinate with various teams/stakeholders to ensure the coordination of the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan
    Assist with presenting the environmental orientation training for project staff as well as periodic environmental toolbox talks as required
    Conduct environmental monitoring and follow-up in accordance with environmental approvals and/or applicable legislation
    Maintain a log of environmental monitoring events and inspections
    Ensure that environmental issues are addressed and requirements are met in accordance with the environmental approvals and project agreement
    Prepare and submit all monitoring, inspection and auditing reports
    Provide advice/recommendations for improving environmental protection and correct any deficiencies/issues of environmental non-conformance
    Establish control measures that may impact all environmental matters and related issues in support of the project

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or other related discipline
    Qualified Person (QP) certification is highly preferred
    3-5 years of relevant work experience with some experience working for construction companies in British Columbia
    Experience in the construction industry on large infrastructure projects is highly preferred
    Experience in conducting environmental inspections and monitoring, and ensuring environmental compliance
    Knowledge of methods, approaches and best management practices related to environmental inspections
    Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations in British Columbia is required
    Proficiency in MS Office Suite
    Good communication and interpersonal skills
    Excellent report writing skills
    Systematic and structured thinking abilities
    Class 5 driver license is highly preferred
    Availability to potentially work evenings, weekends and longer hours if required
