Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Postsecondary degree, diploma or certificate in Business Analysis or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the area of business analysis.
  • Experience using automated tools for requirements management, test case management, defect tracking and process modelling.
  • Experience with business analysis including analysing and defining business problems and requirements, developing business cases and identifying strategic processes and technological solutions.
  • Project management experience, including managing business processimprovement and/or change management projects using project management concepts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders by building rapport and resolving conflict as required.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills, including the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to gain consensus across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a clear, concise and organized manner for a variety of audiences for the purpose of decisionmaking.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to present information in formal and informal environments.
  • Strong organizational skills demonstrating adaptability to unforeseen changes in schedule and interruptions, with the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines within tight timelines.
  • Knowledge of the Business Analyst Book of Knowledge (BABOK) and best practices with the latest techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Desired:

  • Experience using SharePoint.

Duties:


Under the direction of the IT Director, the Business Analyst is responsible for providing leadership to the business area stakeholders within the department for business requirements and analysis, projects and initiatives.

The Business Analyst anticipates their business areas' needs and assist them in understanding and addressing their key strategic challenges through the creative use of ICT products and services.

The Business Analyst develops rigorous, documented user acceptance testing processes and procedures using communications, marketing and advocacy skills.
