About the Role


Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy, Communications and Stakeholder Relations, this role works across the enterprise supporting strategy development, business planning, priority initiatives and ongoing strategic analysis.

In this capacity, you will play a critical role in driving the organization's strategic agenda forward and delivering successful outcomes that support our overall objectives.

In addition to working closely with the Executive Team and other senior stakeholders, you will provide leadership and coaching to the Senior Strategy Analyst.


What You'll Do- Accountable for the development and ongoing execution of corporate strategy, making recommendations on prioritization and resource deployment to senior OPTrust leaders- Provide value-add recommendations to enhance the alignment of cross-divisional objectives and aligning divisional objectives with our corporate objectives and strategies.

Responsible for promoting and fostering cross team collaboration to achieving our objectives.- Provide thought leadership to the Executive Team, writing reports and briefing notes on emerging industry trends to inform decision-making- Work on enterprise projects and strategic initiatives, bringing an enterprise-wide voice and ensuring alignment with corporate strategy- Oversee the creation of annual corporate and divisional objectives, providing expert advice to the Executive Team and key stakeholders on setting meaningful objectives and plans in support of OPTrust's strategy- Lead the development of annual corporate and divisional objectives and the creation of the annual business plan- Lead tracking and reporting for the Executive Team and Board on progress towards annual objectives and the multi-year strategy, highlighting achievements, improvement areas and opportunities to drive the strategy forward- Oversee the analysis of business performance and ongoing operational needs and make recommendations to the Executive Team to support strategic and operational decision making- Establish strong working relationships with senior OPTrust leaders to build influence and impact as a trusted leader on strategy and business planning- Oversee the facilitation of planning meetings, ongoing strategy discussions and strategic initiatives- Provide communications, messaging and analytical support to high priority business cases

What You Bring- Expert communicator, particularly in working with executive and Board audiences- Strong relationship skills with the ability to quickly establish credibility at all levels of the organization- Strong analytical skills to create actionable recommendations- Ability to bring clarity and structure to complex and ambiguous topics- Intellectually curious, flexible and able to synthesize insights from diverse sources

Understanding of pensions, financial markets and institutional investing

Experience and Education- Master's degree preferred- 5-7 years relevant working experience and demonstrated success in the development and execution of strategy- Experience working with board members, senior executives and delivering high profile programs- Demonstrated proficiency in project management, with the ability to get buy-in and support for projects from diverse and often widespread stakeholders- Proven track record in delivering innovative solutions, from concept to change management- Experience in the pension or financial services industry
