The Ministry of Children and Family Development provides services that support healthy, safe environments where children and youth are connected to their family and community.

The ministry delivers the majority of its services locally through contracted agencies as well as through centrally administered provincial programs.


There are four teams supporting the ministry's service delivery areas and the provincial office by providing contract support services spanning multiple business lines (Early Years, Children and Youth with Special Needs, Child and Youth Mental Health, Child Safety, Family Support and Children in Care, Adoption and Youth Justice).


The Contract Specialist is responsible for managing the ministry contract life-cycle for a variety of simple to complex contracting opportunities with some considered high profile and politically sensitive.


Job Requirements:


  • Degree, diploma, designation or equivalent in related field (i.e. procurement and contract management, business administration, commerce, risk management or law).
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in the full procurement life cycle and analyzing complex issues, evaluating options, and recommending solutions.
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in developing and administrating procurement processes.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in contract and/or financial management.
  • Experience working with diverse client groups.

Preference may be given to those with:

  • 2 years or more experience in the full procurement life cycle and analyzing complex issues, evaluating options, and recommending solutions.
  • 2 years or more experience in developing and administrating procurement processes.
  • 1 year experience leading staff and managing resources.
