The Insignia hotel is a unique hotel with rich history and charm. Formerly known as the Drawbridge Inn, our hotel was initially built in the 1960's. Throughout the history of Sarnia, the drawbridge was the place to be.

Today, The Insignia Hotel is part of the Tribute Portfolio Collection, and we continue to grow and prosper with the beautiful city of Sarnia.

We offer a full-service 84 room hotel with amazing amenities such as saltwater pool, dry saunas, gym, fine dining restaurant and bar.

We also have a private banquet hall and drawbridge room available for business, conferences, and leisure events.


We are excited to announce that we will be hosting Traditional Afternoon Tea at Legacy Restaurant every Sunday afternoon soon.

To bring this experience to life, we are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our team.


What we are looking for:

A creative and skilled Pastry Chef who is passionate about creating delightful pastries and desserts.

Someone with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of traditional afternoon tea concepts.

A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work well under pressure.

A professional with excellent communication and organizational skills.


What you will do:

Create a variety of delectable pastries and desserts for our Traditional Afternoon Tea.

Develop new and innovative recipes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.


Collaborate with the kitchen and front of house team to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of the afternoon tea service.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and managing costs.


Responsibilities:

Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, and desserts for the Traditional Afternoon Tea service.

Decorate and garnish pastries to enhance their visual appeal.

Ensure that all pastries are prepared and presented according to the hotel's standards and guest expectations.

Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in pastry making.


Skills and Requirements:

Culinary Arts Degree is preferred.

2+ Years Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker.

Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating.

Knowledge regarding afternoon tea pastries is an asset.

Ability to create visually appealing and delicious pastries and desserts.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

This is a part-time position, requiring availability for 1-2 days a week, specifically on weekends.

As we are launching the Traditional Afternoon Tea in the future, your role will be instrumental in creating memorable experiences for our guests.
