The Insignia hotel is a unique hotel with rich history and charm. Formerly known as the Drawbridge Inn, our hotel was initially built in the 1960's. Throughout the history of Sarnia, the drawbridge was the place to be.

Today, The Insignia Hotel is part of the Tribute Portfolio Collection, and we continue to grow and prosper with the beautiful city of Sarnia.

We offer a full-service 84 room hotel with amazing amenities such as saltwater pool, dry saunas, gym, fine dining restaurant and bar.

We also have a private banquet hall and drawbridge room available for business, conferences, and leisure events.

We are excited to announce that we will soon be hosting Traditional Afternoon Tea at Legacy Restaurant every Sunday.

To bring this experience to life, we are seeking a talented and passionate Afternoon Tea Server to join our team.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

A tea lover who is passionate about teas and eager to learn and serve traditional afternoon tea.

Fluent in written and oral English to effectively communicate with guests and colleagues.

A warm and friendly individual who can create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to engage and interact with guests in a professional manner.

A team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth service operations.

Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Serve traditional afternoon tea to our esteemed guests, ensuring an exceptional and memorable experience.

Provide information to guests on the menu and offerings.

Greet and engage with guests, providing information and recommendations about our tea selections.

Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that special requests and dietary restrictions are noted.

Brew and serve tea with care and attention to detail, ensuring consistent quality and taste.

Present and serve accompanying treats and delicacies in an elegant and visually appealing manner.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tea service area, including tea sets, utensils, and accessories.

Assist with setting up and breaking down the afternoon tea service, ensuring all items are properly cleaned and stored.

Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, striving to exceed their expectations.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adhere to all policies and procedures when serving drinks and food.

Take orders and enter them into the POS system, Maitre d.

Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that each guest feels valued and well taken care of.

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and hygienic work area.

Collaborate with the team to continuously improve our afternoon tea offerings and service procedures.

Participate in training sessions to enhance your knowledge of teas, brewing techniques, and service etiquette.

Assist with special events and promotions related to afternoon tea service as required.

Flexibility to work during afternoon tea hours, which may include weekends and holidays.

Perform other duties as assigned by the management team to ensure smooth restaurant operations.


SKILLS AND REQUREMENTS:

Fluent in written and oral English to effectively communicate with guests and colleagues.

Passion for teas and a willingness to learn and serve traditional afternoon tea.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

A positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
