About The Position:
The Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) Foundation is a dynamic and rapidly growing non profit organization dedicated to supporting NGH in its mission to provide exceptional healthcare to the community.
NGH Foundation is seeking a highly motivated and creative Social Media and Event Coordinator to join the team.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the Foundation and make a meaningful impact on the healthcare sector.
Position Summary:
The Social Media and Event Coordinator will play a pivotal role in enhancing the Foundation's online presence, community engagement, and fundraising efforts.
This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Foundation's social media platforms, planning and executing fundraising events, and promoting the Foundations mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media & Digital Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness, engagement, and followers.
- Create and curate highquality content, including posts, images, videos, and infographics, that resonate with our target audience. While monitoring and responding to comments and messages on social media platforms promptly and professionally.
- Analyze social media/digital data and metrics to track performance and make datadriven recommendations for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging platforms to ensure the NGH Foundation remains innovative and competitive.
Event Coordination:
Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of fundraising events, including but
not limited to galas, charity auctions, donor appreciation events, and community outreach
programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, sponsors, and volunteers, to ensure successful event execution.
- Work closely with the Development Officer to steward and assist with donor engagement and sponsors and create meaningful experiences for donors/stakeholders.
- Develop event budgets, timelines, and project plans to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Evaluate the success of events and make recommendations for improvement based on feedback and key performance indicators.
Content Creation:
Write compelling and persuasive content for event invitations, newsletters, press
releases, and website updates
- Create visually appealing and informative materials, such as brochures, flyers, and presentations.
- Manage and update the foundation's website to ensure content accuracy and freshness.
- Create annual impact reports, design donor reports and other stakeho9lder and engagement materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or College Diploma in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field.
- Proven experience in social media management, event coordination, or a similar role.
- Strong writing and editing skills with an ability to create engaging content.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and social media management tools.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative ideas.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare or nonprofit sectors is a plus.
Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday with ability to work evenings and weekends as required for events.
