Employing approximately 550 highly skilled and dedicated employees, Norfolk General Hospital continues to be a full service 106-bed hospital with round the clock on-call coverage of Specialists in Surgery, Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Obstetrics, as well as on-site 24 hour per day medical coverage.


Simcoe is less than one hour away from most major centers, including Hamilton and London, and only 90 minutes from the Greater Toronto Area.

Situated in Norfolk County (Ontario's South Coast), Simcoe is not far from Lake Erie and the 88 miles of shoreline that includes long stretches of sandy beach.


Position Qualifications

  • Recent MDRAO Certification or recent successful completion of an accredited post secondary reprocessing program
  • Recent MDR experience, (hospital setting preferred)
  • Ability to exercise good judgment when dealing with competing demands and equipment failures
  • Previous experience in preventive maintenance of existing equipment and the troubleshooting, reporting and scheduling of equipment repairs
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Ability to work independently, as well as maintain cooperation with fellow team members within a fastpaced interprofessional healthcare setting
  • Dedicated to providing safe patient care

Principal Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up, delivery, decontamination, high level disinfection, and/or sterilization, and routine testing of all equipment
  • Document and report any failures of quality assurance measures including daily chemical and biological testing
  • Communicate/coordinate workflow, within the team, and where applicable with vendors, manufacturing representatives
  • Order and stock supplies
  • Adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures and provision and the recognition and reporting of unsafe hazards and work practices
  • Other duties as assigned
