PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Terminal and Administration
- Supervise regular scheduling activities & special project, and act to remedy any difficulties
- Support of all aspects of the daytoday operation, including troubleshooting plant process problems, directly supervising daily plant activities and driving plant projects.
- Working with the operators and support resources to achieve productivity targets in all areas.
- Ensure smooth running of the distribution activities as it relates to managing staff, equipment, delivery, etc
- Interface with tactical planning and delivery logistics planning to ensure inventory management of the facility products
- Support of all aspects of the daytoday distribution activities, including scheduling required vehicle maintenance.
- Support plant operations and inventory levels on a daily basis.
- Foster teamwork, conduct regular performance reviews and plan the training and development for staff
- Identifying maintenance concerns, then developing and implementing corrective / preventative measures.
- Review and approve drivers trip expense report, and accuracy of completed paperwork
- Prepare and/or approve weekly pay data before they are sent to ADP for processing
- Manage site's storage tanks inventories, product availability and fuel tank inventory
- Supervise local accounts payables and petty cash
- Provides effective customer interface through other departments
- Ensure compliance and provide mandatory training regarding all distribution activities according to APCL procedures & policies and governmental regulations (DOT requirements, Dangerous Goods, environmental, etc ) to the operations & maintenance personnel.
- Ensure that every employees participate in the Air Products BSP system
- Ensure high safety record achieved according to Safety performance, reduction of preventable vehicle accident, safety management.
- Perform driver observations to ensure compliance
- Participate and give feedback to our local Worker Safety Steering Committee
- A strong understanding and presentation of safety meetings is a must.
- Qualify new hire driver employees and requalify current driver workforce on a 3 year basis
- Road Tests of potential new hires
- Road and Delivery Observations and KPI Performance Management
- Implement Best Practices designed to produce optimal distribution of products
- Actively participate and encourage in productivity and cost reduction improvements, i.e. Lean Enterprise, I's of Performance, Team Development, KPI's tracking, CI event
- Achieve fleet miles per gallon targets, and all other main KPI's.
- Focus the distribution team on customer satisfaction in areas of on time delivery, purity requirements & quality service
- Interface with customer base to ensure delivery integrity and safety.
Direct Reports
- Reporting to this position are 12 drivers (located in 2 different terminals), 2 maintenance mechanics.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- College Degree or equivalent
- 5+ years of industry experience including supervisory
- Strong plant operating experience in similar plants or process operations of similar complexity an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to EH&S with a track record of success on Safety, Environmental, Quality
- A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity/inclusion.
- Ability to effectively interface with support groups
- A selfstarter with proven leadership abilities
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of Transport Canada / DOT regulations and logistics/distribution a plus.
- Management aptitude
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both verbal and written
- Maintenance experience, computer literacy, MS Office platform, knowledge of SAP are definite assets
- Bilingual (French/English)
