    Are you ready to work with a diverse and dedicated team at Port Coquitlam Fire and Emergency Services? We are looking for a Deputy Fire Chief of Operations to join our senior management team. This role involves providing leadership, direction, and assistance to the Fire Chief in overseeing the operations of the department.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in fire department administration and act for the Fire Chief as needed.
    • Act as Local Assistant to the Fire Commissioner.
    • Provide leadership to Suppression Captains in staff management.
    • Manage staff performance and determine resource requirements.
    • Develop fiscal plans and manage budgets effectively.

    Requirements for the Role:

    • Grade 12 completion with post-secondary education in a related field.
    • Significant firefighting and supervisory experience.
    • Class 3 driver's license with air endorsement.
    • Completion of Fire Officer and Incident Safety Officer courses.
    • Extensive knowledge of firefighting techniques and equipment.

    Preferred Education and Training:

    • Fire Officer Level 4 or Fire Executive Management.
    • Leadership, Business Administration, or Emergency Management.

    The Deputy Fire Chief must reside within 30 kilometers of Port Coquitlam for emergency duties. If you want to be part of our team, apply online by May 23, 2024.
